Our Policies
We have to stand by our values. As part of this we need to be held accountable for the choices we make and the things we say. The backbone to this is a strong set of policies which lay out the rules and guidelines which will hold us accountable.
In this section you will find our ever growing list of policies which align with our values.
Safeguarding
Sports including martial arts like Muay Thai have a very influential and positive impact on individual’s especially children and young people (CYP). Participating in muay thai can offer physical and mental health benefits; it provides experiences of enjoyment and attainment. It can also develop important personal qualities like confidence as self-and interpersonal skills like leadership and teamwork. However, these positive effects only happen if we prioritise the welfare of all CYP and vulnerable adults and those involved with muay thai adopt practices that support, protect and empower young people.
Muay Thai GB (MTGB) is committed to working in partnership with all agencies to ensure that information and training opportunities are available to ensure best practice when working with children, young people and vulnerable adults. Adopting best practice will help to safeguard them from actual or potential abuse as well as reducing the likelihood of allegations being made about coaches and other adults in positions of responsibility in Muay Thai. We will also be working with the responsible adults around children to improve and educate adults on how to spot the signs of abuse, and the appropriate routes to make an raise a complain
In event of an emergency please contact the Police or the NSPCC.
