Executive Committee

The Executive Committee will be responsible for the start up and scale up of the organisation. As the organisation grows, the Executive Committee may look to appoint a Senior Leadership Team to look after the daily running of MuayThai GB (We have no plans to do that just yet).

In order for MuayThai GB to be inclusive, we must ensure that there is a mechanism in place for the Executive Committee to best represent our members. Moving forward the Executive Committee will be elected by a democratic process as defined by the "Rules of Membership" (we'll be publishing these rules very soon).

During this crucial start up phase, consistency is key and as such, we have chosen to appoint an Executive Committee. This committee will sit in office until the first democratic election happens at our  Annual General Meeting in January 2024.

Why January 2024?

There’s a rough plan in place in to 2024. We want to stay focussed on our goals and deliver on some really important initiatives. The team in the appointed Executive Committee have developed a strong working bond and they are aligned on the goals.

If we change that team during this very fragile period then that will impact on our delivery. We want the best for the sport and strongly believe we have assembled a team who can set up MuayThai GB, while staying true to our values.

It's important to communicate the reasons why we have taken this decision, and we're really happy to chat about it further if any of you would like to reach out. (enquiries@muaythaigb.org)

UPDATE: The first Annual General Meeting took place on Sunday 21st January 2024. Full minutes of the meeting have been circulated via email. Nominees for key positions were sought from member gyms with Craig Jose (Chair), Gary O'Brien (Vice Chair) and Steve Broome (Secretary) elected unanimously.
