THE 2026 MUAYTHAI GB CHAMPIONSHIPS.. Set to take place on Saturday, 3rd October 2026 at North Solihull Sports Centre. Athletes will compete in Novice (under 5 fights) and Open divisions, showcasing the very best talent in British Muay Thai.

LEEDS UNIVERSITY STUDENT IS BANGKOK BOUND.. As promised, we wanted to create a clear pathway for university athletes to progress from Freshers level through to Elite competition, while also providing world-class tournament opportunities.
To support this vision, MTGB committed to selecting and subsidising one athlete from the recent University Championships to join Team England at the upcoming WBC World Games in Bangkok, Thailand, alongside the team selected from the MTGB British Championships.
The standard of competition was exceptionally high. The skill level demonstrated by university athletes has risen dramatically in recent years, and when combined with the dedication required to balance training and competition alongside completing a degree, these achievements become even more impressive.
After careful consideration, we are delighted to announce that George Wardle from the University of Leeds has been selected to complete the Team England squad. MTGB will fund George's entry fee and provide him with a place on the team for the WBC World Games.
Congratulations, George. We look forward to seeing you represent Team England in Bangkok and hope your success inspires more university students to recognise that this pathway is a genuine opportunity for everyone willing to work towards it.
